Exciting News from Excellent Physical Therapy! (Jan/Feb 2019)

Dear valued patients,

We’re very proud and excited to announce the news that, effective February 1st, 2019, Excellent Physical Therapy will be merging its practice into the RWJBarnabas Health System and will become a vital part of the largest and most renowned healthcare system in New Jersey.  We will still carry the same name, employ the same great staff, and of course continue to provide the ‘Excellent Physical Therapy’ that you have come to rely upon.  As always, Lou DiGiovine, PT will continue his role as the practicing senior Physical Therapist and facility director.

Our decision to evolve our status from an independent private practice to a member of the RWJBarnabas Health family will deliver many benefits to our patients.  Among those, we’ll eventually be joining all of the major insurance networks over the next few months and become an “In-Network” provider, an enhancement which will enable us to provide the highest quality of care within your insurance network at a greater value/lower cost to you and your family.  If you are covered by Medicare, we will continue to be a participating Medicare provider without any interruption in your current course of treatment.

During this time, please don’t hesitate to reach out to any of our administrative or clinical staff members should you have any questions about the transition or how it may benefit you and your family.  Please visit the FAQ (frequently-asked questions) document we’ve posted– we hope that this will help provide information regarding this exciting transition.

We truly appreciate the support of our loyal patients who have entrusted us with their physical therapy care over these many years and sincerely feel as if everyone is part of the EPT family.  We are dedicated to continuing your treatment with the personalized, hands-on service we’re known for and are confident that you’ll continue to enjoy an outstanding, patient-centered experience.

Thanks again so much for your loyalty and we look forward to continuing to support you and your family’s physical therapy needs for many years to come.

Sincerely,

Louis F. DiGiovine PT

Frequently-Asked Questions:

Excellent Physical Therapy’s Merger with RWJBarnabas Health

What exciting change is taking place?

Effective February 1st, 2019, Excellent Physical Therapy will be merging its practice into the RWJBarnabas Health system and will become a vital part of the largest and most renowned healthcare system in New Jersey.

Will EPT’s staff change and/or will I need to see a different therapist?

No, every staff member at EPT will remain at the Bedminster facilities and will continue with your treatment plans as before.  With over 38 years of experience in the field, Lou DiGiovine, PT will remain with the practice and will continue his role as the practicing senior Physical Therapist and facility director.

Will I still receive the same amount of time with my therapist and the same level of quality care?

Yes, of course!  Part of our decision to merge with the RWJBarnabas Health system was based on the fact that RWJ and EPT share similar healthcare philosophies and approaches towards patient care.  As a result, patients can take comfort in the knowledge that they’ll continue to receive the same "one-on-one," personalized care that they value and have come to expect.

Will EPT's Bedminster locations remain the same or will I have to go to an RWJBarnabas Health facility to get treatment in the future?

Both of the EPT facilities in Bedminster will remain the same and will be readily available for patient care, as always.

As part of the RWJBarnabas Health system, will physical therapy now cost me more, less, or roughly the same?

For most patients that we’re seeing on an out-of-network basis, your benefits for physical therapy should be better and cost you less once we’re credentialed with your insurance company and we become an in-network provider.  For Medicare patients, costs will remain exactly the same.

When will the EPT-RWJBarnabas Health practice be in-network with my insurance company?

Each insurance company has different credentialing policies and processes could take anywhere from 1 to 3 months to be completed.  Please don’t hesitate to call and ask us about this at any point in the future.

Will anything change regarding my insurance coverage?

Yes.  In-network usually provides better coverage, but this will differ from insurance company to insurance company.

What forms do I need to fill out as a result of any changes in my insurance?

We’ll let you know what, if any, forms need to be filled out as these details get determined.

Will anything change relative to my Medicare coverage?

No, and there should be very few, if any, new forms to fill out for Medicare patients as a result of EPT’s merger with RWJBarnabas Health.

Will anything change relative to referrals I may need for PT treatment?

Possibly, but we won’t know this until we get credentialed with your insurance company and learn their policies and protocols.  We’ll keep patients updated regarding any changes as we learn of them.
